About Grade 7 exam papers
Grade 7 exam papers and memos follow the CAPS curriculum, and most subjects are written in two parts. This is how each subject is split: English Home Language (Section A: Reading, comprehension and vocabulary; Section B: Language structures and conventions); Afrikaans First Additional Language (Section A: Reading, comprehension and vocabulary; Section B: Language structures); Natural Sciences (Paper 1: Life and living; Paper 2: Matter, energy and the universe); Technology (Paper 1: Design, structures and mechanisms; Paper 2: Electrical systems, materials and impact); Social Sciences: History (Paper 1: African kingdoms, the slave trade and sources; Paper 2: The Cape, the British takeover and the frontier); Social Sciences: Geography (Paper 1: Map skills, interpretation and resources; Paper 2: Population, settlements and sustainability); Economic and Management Sciences (Paper 1: The economy and the entrepreneur; Paper 2: Money, costs and financial records); Life Orientation (Paper 1: Self, health and relationships; Paper 2: Rights, careers and the environment). In maths, Paper 1 covers numbers, operations and patterns, and Paper 2 space, measurement and data handling.
The tests above cover all 87 topics with 2212 questions, including Reading and comprehension, Cells, tissues and organs, The design process, Early African kingdoms, The graticule and position, Needs, resources and production and Self-image and change. Every question comes with an explanation, and the topics are grouped by Paper 1 and 2, like the school’s exam timetable, and checked against real Grade 7 papers.
